What is in my pocket?

My guess would be:
- Your hand?

My second guess targetted at a trick question is:
- Nothing at all

If this is not true, please compare with the following list:
- A small stone, or a ring
- Chewing gum, or some other kind of candy
- A pencil
- A hole
- a small photograph of someone close

The following definition might gives further clues:
http://www.dictionary.com/search?q=pocket

Following on that, we get:
- you have air in your pocket
- in it is ore, grain, or other materials
- other small articles

Some research on the web; entering "What is in my pocket" at Google
yields the following pages:

"Guess What is in My Pocket"
http://www.expage.com/guesswhatisinmypocket

"Riddles, riddles, everywhere... - www.ezboard.com" (cached version)
http://216.239.39.100/search?q=cache:T2AlpJomZvAC:pub95.ezboard.com/fhammyshangoutfrm3.showMessage%3FtopicID%3D19.topic%26index%3D76+%22what+is+in+my+pocket%22&hl=en

So, regarding those resources we add:
- a tooth pick
- a bead
- "My precioussssssesssss!!! MINE!"*

*In reference to J.R.R. Tolkien

Let's try to be practical. What do I have in my pocket usually, that
you might have too?
- small amounts of money
- A key, or a wallet

If this is a philosophical question, I should say:
- Your pocket contains another pocket, which also contains a pocket
(ad infinitum)

A psychological approach:
- Your pocket contains comfort, escape, and a place to feel home

Logic results in:
- Your pocket contains what your pocket contains (tautology)

I hope this was of help, and thanks for the question.

I'm going for the Lowell George reference.

I know! A seam... without a seam you wouldn't even have a pocket.
The seam allows 2 sections of cloth to be sewn together, making it a
pocket. ;)

I find these questions are best approached empirically rather than
through the realm of ontological speculation. Perhaps you should just
look in your pocket and find out. (Many pockets can be turned
inside-out to facillitate this sort of investigation---though the
nature of "in" may change).

Knowledge_Seeker-ga's answer of "no tea" is very appealing. I usually
have no tea in my pocket most of the time.

On those occasions when I find that I have failed to have no tea in my
pocket I usually find that I have tea in my pocket instead, and
although this seems very logical I have found this to be a somewhat
messier state for a pocket to be in.

However, one day I found that I had both tea and no tea in my pocket
at the same time (a rather improbable eigen-state for a pocket to be
in), but now I can't remember how I was able to fit both of them in
there at the same time. It may have had something to do with
someone's cat, which, if it had been alive at the time would have
almost certainly lapped up the tea and caused it to no longer be in my
pocket, unless there were an observer present who might make a loud
noise such as "eh-h-h!!! get way from that pocket!!!" in order to
scare the cat away and thereby get all of the tea for himself and
leave no tea for the cat.

Also of possible significance is that there are two teas in
"forty-two" and no tea in "fnord".

What else?
The One Ring.

Do anyone here read Tolkien? The HobbiT?

If I said "A coin is in my pocket" then a coin is in my pocket.
Therefore if I say "What is in my pocket", I'd suggest an object or
thing called "what" may be the answer!

I believe a more appropriate question would be, "what have I got in my pocketses?"
