The short answer to your question is "No". Ofcourse moderation in all
things is a good guide for a healthy lifestyle, but consuming alot of
sugar will not directly cause Diabetes. However, obesity is an
accepted cause of Diabetes and therefore sugar may indirectly be a
contributing factor, if one's diet (high in sugar) causes obesity.
