I'm looking for information on a Star Barber Chair. This is the
manufactured name of the barber chair. I'm looking for when and where
the company was in business, and a possible e-mail or mailing address
or phone number I can contact. All the information you can find I'll
greatly appreciate.
Thank you so much for your help.

Hi Barb4,

I did a cursory search of the item and a lengthy search of barber
chair manufacturers but both yielded negative results. Are there any
extra info you can tell us? Sometimes, even tiny bits of information
can lead us to the answer. A picture speaks a thousand words so if you
can post any picture or illustration in the Internet, please do so.
Thank you.

Regards,
Feilong

Hi feilong, The only thing that I found on the barber chair was
four set of numbers. 527 NB, 528 NA, 529 NA were all found on the
under carriage of the foot rest sections of the chair. 351 was found
under the seat, stamped on the top of the hydrolic shaft of the chair.
The base, arms and frame of the chair are porcelian. The seat and
back are leather covered. Frame work is cast iron. I believe the
chair could be of the 1900's or of the 1910's. On the foot rest that
moves there is a shape of a star with the word star printed over the
shaped star. On the base of the foot rest there is a bigger shaped
star, no words. I found no patent numbers or other marks. Could the
chair been made outside of the United States? Thanks again for your
help...barb4

Howdy barb4!

At least one other person is looking for information
on a Star barber chair. A query was posted on a web
site that is dedicated to "The Art of Barbering and
the History of the Barber Pole":

http://www.barberpole.com/bbs/messages/739.html

"Need info on a STAR barber chair. Who manufactured a
STAR barber chair? Chair is of early 1900's"

The query includes an email address; maybe the poster
has more information by now.

Looking Forward, denco
