Riemann tensor R with four dimensions and a raised index has twenty independent components. Once I have found the twenty is there an easy way of finding the other 200+ components? Anyone know any free software on the web for the Riemann tensor? I do not have mathematica or maple. |

Welcome to GA. I'm way out of my depth, but might this link be of any use to you: http://www.scicomp.ucsd.edu/~mholst/codes/mc/ |

The other components are found through identities involving swapping values for pairs of indices. These wouldn't be the easiest things to type into a text-based interface (upper/lower indices). If you can find it, I'd recommend getting a copy of Gravitation & Spacetime by Hans Ohanian. |
