Question ID: 183924
I want my daughters placed in the same classroom, a multiage
elementary school class K-2 and I'd like some information to support
my request.

What elementary educational research or data is available that would
show a beneficial effect of having siblings in the same classroom?

lyonsden-ga,

Are you interested in benefits to acheivement, behavior or both? Are
you interested in information related to Montessori or traditional
education? Finally, would information from public schools that support
multiage classrooms be of interest?

Thanks

I have found an abundance of information on the benefits of multi-age
classrooms, but nothing, as of yet, that addresses siblings in a
classroom together (unless it involves twins, which is not what you
are seeking.)Do you have any interest in this information, or only
resources that specifically deals with siblings in a multi-age
classroom?

The school is a public elementary school, so data from this arena
would be most appropriate to my cause.

The classroom has children from three grade levels in same class
learning at the same time with an emphasis on active learning similar
to the Montessori model. This is not a traditional classroom by any
stretch of the imagination. Thus, if I have to choose between
information regarding siblings in the traditional classroom (which I
suppose would be twin or triplet data) or Montessori; I'd need the
latter.

Data relating to acheivement would be of use, and if data exists
regarding beneficial effects on behavior, I could certainly use that
as well.
