I have been so moved by President Bush’s words to American troops that
I’d like to find the closest recruiting stations for his daughters,
Barbara and Jenna Bush. The former is at Yale and the latter at the
University of Texas/Austin.

Hello 4103,

Thank you for your question and happy to help. I visited the Army's
Home Page at www.army.mil and clicked on recruiting, but the servers
must be overloaded as I could not get the recruiting pages to load!
After quite a few tries, I had success.

As the following page shows, there are 3 paths to join the Army!:
http://www.goarmy.com/army101/index.htm

There are three paths to join the U.S. Army: Army active duty (full
time), Army Reserve (part time), Army Officer.

I thought active duy most appropriate for your needs and they would
seem to fulfill the requirements:

"Active-Duty enlistment in the Army means you’ll become a full-time
Soldier.

Terms of Service

Enlisting as an active-duty Soldier means you can choose to serve from
two to six years. Enlistment cash bonuses are available with certain
Army jobs.

To enlist as an active-duty Soldier in the U.S. Army you must be:

  • Between the ages of 17–34
  • A U.S. citizen or registered alien
  • Healthy and in good physical condition"

So, with that in mind, I visited the "Locate a Recruiter " page:

http://www.goarmy.com/contact/recrloca.htm

The zip code for Yale University is 06520

The local recruiter is:

NEW HAVEN RECRUITING STATION
161 ORANGE STREET
NEW HAVEN, CT 06510
203-624-3312

University of Texas at Austin has a zip of 78701 :

UNIVERSITY RECRUITING STATION
2025 GUADALUPE
SUITE 258
AUSTIN, TX 78705
512-472-7616

Clouseau --

It was a nice attempt. But Barbara and Jenna might well want to be
Marines or even join the country club military and avoid real war
(like their father). Please provide all options.

4103,

The Inspector has given you an excellent Answer for your fee.

While all of us Researchers are enjoying your April Fool's Questions,
you should know that although most Researchers enjoy providing
Answers, their primary reason for doing so is the income. Researchers
get 75% of the fee, so Clouseau will get $1.50 for Answering your
Question. In the time Clouseau would have to spend looking up the New
Haven and Austin Recruiting contacts for the Navy, the Air Force, the
Marines, and the National Guard (especially given the high traffic and
unavailability of those websites right now), he could instead be
Answering several $5-25 Questions.

I encourage you to thank Clouseau for participating in your humorous
repartée, tell him that he has satisfied your request, and rank him
with 5 stars on both this and your other Question:

Thank you very much,
