following problem needs to be solved:
we want to display images and service download links to binary files
from a remote database in an ibm-websphere portlet (wps). those
images/files are protected, so we need the user to be wps
authenticated and have all information about him available at the time
we query the database. Files must somehow be passed through ibm's
portal server, and there must not be any other commercial software
involved.

suggestion 1: somehow access the currently logged in user's
information within a jsp that is directly accessed (not via the
Portlet Server) (e.g.
http://wcpr.dfw.ibm.com/wps/WPS_PA_903/jsp/file.jsp)

suggestion 2: display full content via the portlet (without any of
portal servers' HTML around)
