You are very kind, Granny, and usually I am all in favour of
researchers being paid for their efforts, even when the results are
inconclusive.

But this is different. I couldn't charge you for:
1 a comment that took a couple of minutes and wasn't a complete
answer, nor for
2 some musings that I knew had no chance of leading to an answer, and
just happened to entertain me while I was convalescent and looking for
a little light mental activity.

So many thanks for the offer, but keep your purse strings tied until
