Could you point me to the largest list of Bay area companies (by
revenue) that is available online? Minimum 100, but a list of a 1,000
wouldn't hurt my feelings either.

Hello.

The biggest list out there on this subject seems to be the Chronicle
200.

The Chronicle 200 has revenue ("sales") figures for the Bay Area's 200
largest companies:

search strategy: intel, cisco, chevrontexaco, gap, "wells fargo"

I hope this helps.

Could anyone else find a larger list?

Hi simontempler,

There's a book called the "THE BAY AREA 500: Hoover's Guide to the Top
San Francisco Area Companies, 1994-1995." It might be helpful to you,
and it's available at the quite reasonable price of $1.95 from a
dealer listed on Abebooks.com:

My friend and colleague Pinkfreud has graciously informed me of
another publication that might assist you. It's called the "San
Francisco Business Times Book of Lists," and it contains information
on 3039 businesses.

I hope this helps.

I spent some time researching this question, and I do believe that, in
pointing you to the Chron 200, Juggler has found the best and most
comprehensive free list that's available online.
