Hello,
I'd like to know the regulations prohibting the sale of International
Editions of certain books in the USA,specifically
What types of sales are prohibted?
Does this also restrict the sale of used books on websites like ebay
or half etc
Would such books be seized by customs if sent across by friends
abroad.

Thanks,

Would somebody please respond to this question. I will add a tip of
$3.00 to a reasonable answer. I do realize this is peanuts, but as a
student this is all that I can spare.

Certain companies like McGraw Hill etc. prohibt the sale of
International Editions printed abroad, to be re-exported to the US or
UK. Is this based on International law, or can anybody buy these
abroad and export them to the US.

How about the sale of these books online, on ebay or half.com

IF such books are shipped from abroad, would they be seized at customs
or not.

Thanks,

This might provide some guidance. I'll see if I can find more.

My guess would be that in general, what you propose should be OK,
unless prohibited by some other law such as obscene, treasonous or
stolen books. (I have no basis for this, however.)
