Question ID: 184738
I'm trying to find the website or contact information for a famous
author. I'd like to purchase autographed copies of his books, but I
haven't been able to find a website or any other information on how I
can contact him. Can anyone help?

The Author is Bryan Clough, and the books are:
ISBN - 0679409386 (hardcover) 0571168132 & 0679747133 (paperback)
Approaching Zero: Data Crime and the Computer Underworld (1993)
ISBN - 0952547708
Cheating at Cards: Sharp Practices and Naïve Systems (1994)
ISBN - 0952547716
Beware of Your Bank (1995)
ISBN - unknown
State Secrets: The Wolkoff Files (2001)

Also, I'd like to know how to pronounce his last name. I don't have a
clue.

Hi Ace,

I'm glad the link answered your question. With regards to the
pronounciation, combine "K" with the British pronounciation of "laugh"
and you have it.

AuthorZone.Com Inc.
Bryan Clough
http://www.authorzone.com/view_authors.php?s=3d3a62f9c268469b67153cea48daf730&authorid=364

This link is lucky number 9 in my Google Web search result.

Search strategy:

"bryan clough" author
://www.google.com/search?q=%22bryan+clough%22+author&cat=&hl=en

Ace, I'm not surprised you don't have a clue. It's tough figuring
hough to pronoughnce Clough if yough've never met that particular name
before. Since cloughseau-ga's not here to shough the way, I'll kick
ough with my suggestion that it's probably:

Cluff (as in tough)
not
Clow (as in bough)
Cloe (as in though)
Clue (as in through)
nor even:
Cloff (as in cough)

This is the correct way to address other Cloughs I know, though none
of them are as distinguished as the author you mention. Perhaps he has
his own unique take on the surname?

Footnote: I have heard rumours that Clough is moving from revealing
"State Secrets" in investigative non-fiction to presenting them in the
theatre. Now that a great British matriarch has left the stage, 'the
authorities' have felt able to release certain information which
provides sensational material for Clough's new career as playwright.
First performance is, appropriately enough, to be in a certain seaside
town famed for its R---l Pavilion.

Hope this helps.

If you do a search for keywords "clough pronounced" (with quotes
around the words), you'll see that the last name Clough can be
pronounced:

cluff

It all depends on the person!

Hi, Ace

If he's English, as I suspect, then his name would be pronounced
'Cluff' ... This is very much a Northern name.

I understand that there might be a person with this name associated
with

www.thecitydesk.co.uk

Best of luck
