Question ID: 184902
How do I perform a single search and have the Google results limited
to more than one domain? I can successfully search using the
"site:domainxyz.com" restriction, but I want to know how I can specify
two or more domains.

It appears that a search for <(site:domainxyz.com or
site:domainabc.com) searchterm>, or any variant upon it, will not work
on Google.

Is there any problem with running two or more searches?

Clarification of Question by pcaballero-ga on 02 Apr 2003 10:21 PST
Running two or more searches is not what I am seeking to do. I need
to be able to perform a single query with the search results limited
to multiple, specified domains. Thanks.

Hi there,

I stumbled upon this by accident and was surprised that it works.
First, make sure you are using the regular Google search box and not
the Google Toolbar. Now, simply enter your search like this:

keyword site:domain1.com OR site:domain2.com OR site:domain3.com OR
site:domain4.com

Here's two examples:

widget site:widget.com OR site:widget.fr OR site:widget.de
://www.google.com/search?q=widget+site%3Awidget.com+OR+site%3Awidget.fr+OR+site%3Awidget.de+

iraq site:bbc.com OR site:cnn.com OR site:abc.com OR site:yahoo.com.au
OR site:yahoo.com OR site:indepedent.co.uk OR site:guardian.co.uk OR
site:canada.com OR site:upi.com
://www.google.com/search?q=iraq+site%3Abbc.com+OR+site%3Acnn.com+OR+site%3Aabc.com+OR+site%3Ayahoo.com.au+OR+site%3Ayahoo.com+OR+site%3Aindepedent.co.uk+OR+site%3Aguardian.co.uk+OR+site%3Acanada.com+OR+site%3Aupi.com&btnG=Google+Search

As you can see, it is ideally suited to news searches.

Nine is the most sites you can search at once. The results are subject
to normal results ranking, which means that sometimes the first page
might list 10 pages from the same site, because they all rank higher.

You might even want to combine it with the service at Google Alert:

My mistake was not using the capitalized "OR"; I searched with a
lowercase "or". I've never used the "OR" operator in my searches, but
now maybe I will!
