Major League Baseball. An old saw is "speed doesn't slump" to which I
always respond "but it gets injured." Do aggressive base stealers miss
more playing time than pokey station-to-station types?

From looking over their career statistics, I don't believe that Rickey
Henderson and Ty Cobb missed much playing time as a result of
aggressive base stealing. But perhaps they are unusual. Do you have
any other aggressive base stealers in mind? Also, do you have any
"pokey station-to-station types" in mind? (It might be worth
considering that some players could be agressive stealers but not
aggressive fielders, or vice versa.)

I assume fast offensive players play fast on defense too, but how you
separate the fast from the slow is your business. Referencing the
great players is no help, though, because greatness correlates to
playing time.
