Question ID: 184982
I am looking for a list of U.S. Newspspers who publish a special
Sunday "Chronical" or "Magazine" section as well as contacts for
marketing programs or business development. I would like to focus on
Major U.S. Cities: L.A., San Francsico, Seattle, Portland, Las Vegas,
Chicago, New York (and potentially an upstate equivalent), Atlanta,
Miami, Austin, Houston, Dallas, Denver, Des Moines, Detroit, Memphis,
Knoxville, Hartford, Philadelphia, New Orleans, etc).

I think it would be possible to put together a list of major city
newspapers that publish Sunday magazines.

However, your additional requirement of "contacts for marketing
programs or business development" greatly increases the time it would
take to compile such a list. Do you need specific names of people to
contact? It would be a pretty massive project to find out specific
contacts for each of the newspapers.

Or would it be sufficient to provide just an address and phone number
for each newspaper's marketing department?

Address and phone would be sufficient. I can do the heavy lifting,
just need to be pointed in the right direction.

Hello.

I've compiled a list of all of major city newspapers with Sunday
magazines. I took the cities in the order that you listed. In some
cases, the city's major newspaper no longer publishes a Sunday
magazine, but I explain when it was discontinued where appropriate.

I also located Sunday magazines in several cities that you didn't list
(Washington DC, Boston, Cleveland, etc.).

You might want to check out a copy of "2002 Writer's Market: 8,000
Editors Who Buy What You Write" by Kirsten Holm (Editor), Robert Lee
Brewer (Editor), Kathryn Struckel Brogan (Editor).

It's available on amazon.com for as little as $6.50, and if memory
serves, lists almost all major newspapers, their Sunday publications,
and contact information (contacts for writers, not necessarily
business propositions -- but it's a start!)
