how much does a google researcher make, on average, per month? If you
don't know the average, then how much do YOU make on average per month
as a researcher? (only answer if you are a researcher that does this
more than 20 hours a week)-- and tell me on average how many hours per
week you do this?

i resent that people are locking my question for hours at a time and
not answering. look, it takes only 5 minutes to answer. if you lock
my question, i will be expecting an answer within 10 minutes. someone
that locks my question for 2 hours and finally responds will receive a
very low feedback rating.

i was hoping someone that does this for 20 or more hours a week and
has done so for at least a couple months can answer. Forget the
"average" of everyone...just tell me your average salary.

PLEASE! Don't lock this question unless an answer is forthcoming in
minutes (since it is so easy to answer)

Hi there,

My situation is not unique.

I work on my computer all day, maintaining web sites. In terms of
checking if any questions are available, I pop in every 5 minutes or
so.

On average I answer one question per day. It can take anywhere from 2
minutes to all day to answer one question. However, for every question
I answer, there are several I attempt to answer but cannot find the
information. My averages would be roughly:

45 minutes on a successful answer
1 hour on questions I gave up on

Our earnings are not a secret, although it requires clicking on a
researchers name, visiting each answered question and calculating 75%
of the list price. I average $US300 a month.

So, $300 / 30 days x 1.75 hours = $5.71 per hour.

Keep in mind that there are huge advantages to working from home, such
as no travel time, no travel cost, cheaper lunch, no need to "throw a
sickie", no wearing a suit (or shoes for that matter)...

I feel that my situation is quite typical. There are some researchers
who are far more efficient than me, and who tackle more high dollar
questions. There are others who answer very few questions and it is
perhaps more of a hobby. I'm somewhere in the middle.

Best wishes,
robertskelton-ga

word, before making it available to researchers.

"People" did not lock your question.

Whenever the word "Google" appears in a question, such a question is
automatically locked for review by the Google Answers editors to see
whether the question should be directly addressed by Google staff
rather than by Google Answers Researchers (who are contract workers,
not employees of Google.)

Regarding your question:

By looking at my profile, anyone can add up the dollar amounts that I
have received, and can calculate my earnings (a GA Researcher's share
of the fee is 75%.)

Beyond that, I consider my income to be a private matter.
