Hello, hernon01, Re: making the inscription more legible... You could always try the old "gravestone rubbing" trick with the cup to see if anything becomes more legible. Take a thin sheet of paper--something a bit stronger than tissue paper and a bit more flimsy than white copy paper. Place it over the area of inscription on the cup. Using a very soft pencil, a soft piece of charcoal such as you might use for charcoal sketching, or a piece of colored chalk, gently rub back and forth on the paper. Any inscription may come through more clearly that way than by simply looking at the engraving. Good luck! Anlon |
