Glaxo, I occasionally receive emails which, as soon as I highlight them in the subject/ sender list, either cause my mail program (Netscape Mail) to hang up, or otherwise crash the computer altogether and require me to reboot. I delete them by clicking on the message before the problem message, then Control+click on the problem message and Control+click the message after, dragging all three messages to the Trash folder, then going into Trash to move the two clean messages back into the Inbox. I have no idea what these problem messages contain, I know only that they are problems. And when the trash gets deleted, so do the problem messages. If you want to delete your message unread, then this is worth a try. Good luck! |

email was designed to be a text medium. As such if you disable all the other non sense, such as java/javascript/html/visbual basic code/execution of scripts, and disconnect yourself from the net, you should be ok. Of course, if you're using Wnidows you are probably limited to what you CAN do. This is unfotuante, but not your fault. |

If you have a preview pane open, the e-mail may be trying to show content your program can't handle (java/vbscript, etc) Try turning off your preview pane if it is enabled, then you should be able to delete the message. |

if you thinking that it can contain virus or something.. get a free anti-virus who scan all email. Try AVG at this link : http://www.grisoft.com/html/us_downl.htm?session=79269428fd54642872c61ed0df3f88d5#FREE |

There are 2 possible ways to fix this problem 1. - Send your self a test e-mail - In your inbox select that e-mail then hold down the CTRL key and select the message you are having problems with. - Press the delete - both messages should be sent to the "deleted itmes" then you can empty deleted items and the problem e-mail is gone If that does not work 2. - put all important e-mails from your inbox in another folder (you should do this anyway the inbox was never ment for storage) - click on tools --> options --> Maintenance - click on the Store folder button - highlight the folder location and right click then copy - go to start --> run - right click and paste the folder location in to the run line - click ok - this will open up the oulook express store folder - close outlook express (it can not be running for the next step) - find the inbox.dbx file and delete it (this will remove the inbox and all mail in it) - restart outlook express - this will rebuild the inbox.dbx file new and empty |
