I am looking for a list of non UK universities and business schools
sending students to the UK to study, or on internships. We wish to
target North and
South America, China, Japan and Europe. Can anyone help?

Are you looking primarily at business internships, or any kind of UK internship?

Hello tamara-ga,

I’ve spent the past couple of hours on your search and I’m finding
it’s much tougher to get the information you’re looking for than I
expected. It’s easy to find what programs are offered in the UK but
there is no easy way of finding which schools send them international
students. It’s also easy to search for schools that offer the option
of international study but there is no easy way to search for the two
together. You have to go to each school’s Web site and see their
international study options. This means that the searching is very
time consuming.

I’d like to have more direction from you before going any further with
my research. How many schools would meet your requirements? How many
from each source country are you expecting? (North and South America,
China, Japan and Europe.) I’m wondering if another approach might be
of interest. It’s fairly easy to get directories/catalogs of schools.
Would it make sense to market yourself more broadly without
identifying whether the school offers UK study options or not?

I look forward to your clarification.

For umit-ga:Any internship or study programme. It doesn't matter what
the students are doing in the UK, we offer accommodation so the
details of their programme are not important. We will be contacting
the universities in question to offer our services and we only want to
contact those whose students might need accommodation in the UK.

Hope that helps

for cza-ga
We are actually trying to avoid doing a blanket email shot to all
universities because of the sheer number of them. We really want only
those unis sending students to the UK. It may be that we are asking
for too many countries. Perhaps it would be sensible to concentrate
on say, China and see how long that takes by itself.

Thanks for the clarification Tamara. Is the information leader-ga
posted as a comment sufficient for an answer? I think you'd get better
results if you broke up your question to focus on one country at a
time and told us how many schools you expect to see on the list.
Thanks again for telling us the objectives of your project.

Hello again tamara-ga,

Thanks for your latest clarification. If you are satisfied with
leader-ga’s answer, post a clarification telling him to post his
comment as a formal answer. You can change the price of the question
any time before it is answered or you can leave it as is.

I also found some additional resources for US schools but I don’t want
to post it as an answer in response to your current question since it
doesn’t cover everything you asked for. Here are some options on how
you might proceed.

1) Invite leader-ga to post his comment as an answer. 2) Post a new
question asking for additional US resources. 3) Post separate
questions for specific country(ies) -- in North and South America,
China, Japan and Europe. I think the likelihood of getting an answer
will be better if the question is broken up into geographic or
language specialty areas. Good luck.

To leader-ga, you can now post the list you have submitted as the
answer to my question. Thank you for your time and effort

To Cza-ga. Thank you too, for your good advice. I am keen to have
your US list - if it's Ok I will post a lower price question for that
list and ask for another country. Since I'm still foxed by this
system which makes you price your own questions, I would welcome your
comments on whether you think I'm fair in what I'm offering, for what
I'm asking

Hello again Tamara,

Thanks for the additional clarifications. Since you have questions
about how to work with Google Answers I think you might find the
tutorial prepared by a fellow researchers helpful.

On your current question, you can leave it as is and you will be
charged $50 when leader-ga posts his answer. Another alternative is to
post a new question directed to leader-ga only asking him to post his
comment as an answer. Like this:

Q: For Leader-ga only please

You could post a similar question to me asking for the material I’ve
found. Like this:

Q: For czh-ga only: The Market …

You could also post new questions for getting information about
schools in other countries or regions.

Best wishes for success with your marketing campaign.

Hello again tamara-ga,

Since leader-ga has not posted an answer even though you’ve invited
him to do so, I’ve decided to give you all the information I’ve
collected. From a quick review of leader-ga’s list, there is minimal
overlap between his list and the schools and resources I’ve
identified.

In addition to giving you a list of schools that have study abroad
programs in the UK, I’ve also included a variety of directories of
schools and programs that should give you lots of additional
prospects. There are hundreds of schools and programs linked from
these directories as well as lots of additional resources on
international study programs. You might be able to develop joint
marketing programs with some of these. As I mentioned earlier, I think
you’d have better luck with sourcing schools from non-US geographic
areas if you posted separate questions.

Please ask for clarification if any of this is not clear. I wish you
success with your marketing efforts.

JAPAN SCHOOLS WITH UK PROGRAMS

Over 60,000 Japanese students study abroad each year.
Last year, over 4,000 students contacted us for counseling services.
These students have come to know of JASA through our various
publications, marketing efforts, workshops, information counters, and
through the referral of friends and relatives who were once JASA
students themselves. Although many of our students come to us from the
Kanto region (Tokyo and surrounding areas), our name recognition and
reputation allows us to recruit students from Hokkaido to Okinawa.
Each year, families come from every region of the country to attend
our pre-departure orientation sessions.
Out of the thousands of students that contact us each year,
approximately 350 students will choose to enroll in our comprehensive
placement services (250 students into undergraduate/graduate degree
programs and another 100 students per year into English language
programs).

universities that are degree-granting and accredited by the U.S.
Secretary of Education. Operationally, the universe is defined as
those institutions listed in the annual Higher Education Directory,
published by Higher Education Publications, Inc. Because the emphasis
of the Classification is on functions and student and faculty
characteristics, every effort is made to classify distinct campuses
separately, even if they are a part of a multi-campus institution.

Thank you leader-ga, czh-ga and umiat-ga for your efforts. The list
leader-ga sent is great, but doesn't cover all the areas I wanted.
However, I realise now that it was probably too big a question and
even this list will be terribly helpful. Therefore, if none of you
have any more lists to send, I will content myself with this one. I
am pretty confused by the payment system, so I'm not sure how it
affects you all if I receive another answer. If it can be done,
please send me what you have found. If not, we'll leave it as it is
now and I will post another, broken-down question for each country.
