Statistics and research are good only as propaganda, politically
correct or as sources to quote if you have an agenda, unless the
researchers are very open minded, very ethical, honest and willing to
supress their pre-conceived opinions. To be really useful it is
necessary to explain assumptions, corollares, propostitions, axioms,
and definitions in detail, and avoid falling into double-speak. If you
select mainstream definitions many readers will get approximately the
correct meaning on the first reading, otherwise they will frequently
be annoyed by having to refer to your definitions and/or they will
just close their minds to your conclusions and usefulness. It
approches useless to analyze generalities so more details would be
helpful if you wish to close this question and ask again with more
details. My wife is of the opinion that none of what I just typed has
any baring on reality. Neil |
