I am looking for the basic requirements to be a "Quality Control"
standards officer in a company. Are there specialized courses of QC
training? Naturally the prerequisite qualifications would vary
immensely between a manufacturing company and say.. a blood collection
agency. It is assumed that minimum education would be an applicable
degree and some experience in the field. Also is there a general trade
publication?

Hi uzzz!

I was just thinking about you today just two hours ago. The CBC played
your "War" song, sung by Edwin Starr, and when it was over they
explained that Edwin Starr died yesterday at age 61. I had wondered if
you had heard the news.

In regards to this question, it would really be helpful to know what
kind of business the company is in - can you narrow it down a bit for
us?

Good to hear from you -
hummmer

Good to hear from you. Thank you for the Edwin Starr news. I didn't
know he had passed away.

The field of interest is "home health care".

Are you looking for Canadian requirements?

Good afternoon Hummer

Thank you for the clarification request.

If there are specific Canadian requirements I would be interested in
knowing them. It would be interesting to know if there are differences
between countries.

Hello Uzzz,

As usual, you have posed an interesting question which seems simple
enough at first glance but one soon finds out there's more there than
meets the eye. I believe a good place for you to start would be
through the American Society for Quality (ASQ), which seems to be the
standard organization recognized by both the United States and Canada.
Following are three basic links:

interchangeably, referring to the actions performed to ensure the
quality of a product, service or process.

2. "Quality audit: A systematic, independent examination and review to
determine whether quality activities and related results comply with
planned arrangements and whether these arrangements are implemented
effectively and are suitable to achieve the objectives."

3. "Quality management (QM): The application of a quality management
system in managing a process to achieve maximum customer satisfaction
at the lowest overall cost to the organization while continuing to
improve the process."

Thank you for the fine rating and tip, I appreciate them both and am
glad to hear you found the information useful.

The Hummingbirds are about a week earlier than last year - I hope they
don't get caught in a cold snap.
