I have been struggling to find large glass salt and pepper shakers
with stainless steel tops. The kind I seek should hold 3 ounces of
salt. They might me about 6 inches high. The mouth where the cap
screws on should be about 1 inch in diameter. The style is described
in various ways but the most descriptive is "Eiffel Tower" They may
be called lighthouse or just tower or paneled. The glass should be
common, not crystal. The glass should be clear, transparent. The
lines should be graceful and not covered with decorations. The Eiffel
Tower is square at the bottom. These salt shakers should be round or
octagonal or whatever but not square. I would like to be able to
purchase them individually. Thank you. |

Hello Norton ...
From the description you have given, these are fairly common paneled
salt and pepper shakers ...
I have found two types, one with a flatter stainless steel top and
those with the more pointed stainless steel tops, but only one source
so far that allows you to purchase one only. (The rest require either
purchasing the set or by the gross).
Do you have a preference as to the top on the shakers?
Thanks ever so,
Serenata

The pointed cap is the desired configuration. In my experience online
the common paneled shakers are only 3 inches high. I need big ones.
All I can find are 3 ounce with mushroom caps.

Sorry Norton ...
All I can find on line for you which meet your requirements are the
mushroom capped shakers, about 4 1/2 inches high.
Perhaps some other researcher will be able to locate them for you.
Good luck,
Serenata

Sorry to be confused, but you say Eiffel Tower (which is square) but
that these should NOT be square, so are we just talking a clear glass
shaker that tapers to the top? And do you mean only stainless or also
chrome for the top?? We don't want to spend too long looking for the
wrong thing! If you have a picture you can post somewhere that would
help.

Dear searcher, The general shape of the salt shakers is like the
general shape of the Eiffel Tower but I don't want the square base.
The tower starts small at the top and gracefully gets bigger toward
the bottom. The saly shakers should start at the top with a 1 inch
diameter and gracefully get bigger at the bottom, maybe to about 3
inches. I hope this helps.

Puchasing by the pair would be OK too but not a dozen or a gross. Thanks
