I am used to using Eudora and pocomail for my popmail but have
switched to Microsoft Outlook 2002 to take advantage of spamnet. In
Eudora and pocomail I go to the message pane and copy each email
message and then paste it into a database I keep that I have set up
that parses out the To:, From:, Subject:, and cc: lines into separate
fields.

When I try to do the same thing and copy a message from the Preview
Pane of Microsoft Outlook, all I get is the text of the message. I
don't get the To: , From: , Subject: , and cc: lines included in
the message.

How do I configure Outlook so I can get a copy of the entire email
message including the header information including the To: , From: ,
Subject: , and cc: lines?

As far as I know, in Outlook 2002, you can't display the headers along
with the message - only by going to "View"/"Options..." with the
message open and looking in the "Internet headers:" section of the
dialog box.

I can, however, provide you with an Outlook macro to display the
message in this format when run against a message (toolbar button
click required). Would you consider this a satisfactory answer to your
question?

Yes, the macro would be a satisfactory answer as long as the output
from the macro is text that I can paste (or that is already pasted)
onto my clipboard that includes both the header information and the
text of the message.

What I do is to forward the message to myself. All the headers then
appear in the body of the forwarded message and you can cut and paste
the whole thing using CTL-A, CTL-C, and then CTL-V.

Sorry, I don't really think that is an good solution. I run a news
group and archive over 100 emails a day. This solution would be too
labor intensive. It would be easier for me to just go back to Eudora
or pocomail and eliminate the added step.

If I understand correctly, you are copying and pasting the emails one
by one anyway. If that's right, you can avoid adding the manual
forwarding step by setting up an Outlook rule to automatically forward
all your messages (or just those from a certain mailing list) to
yourself.
