Hello,

Looking for a source to be kept aware of the sports scores and news in
the Philippines. Focus is on basketball due to my impression of it
being in high demand and other sports which you may feel are also in
high demand.

Deliverables:

1. Live, or almost live at least, scores for popular sports such as
basketball.
2. Ideally a free source that doesn't mind to be quoted or can be
licensed from if possible. I'll follow up on that bit if it's not
expressed on their site.
3. Should be in electronic form to ease the process of extraction.

Thank you.

Hi again Lizardnation! I am from the Philippines so I know my
basketball.

Our first link goes to the only professional basketball league in the
Philippines, the PBA (Philippine Basketball Association) which existed
since 1975. Actually in the past there were two including the now
defunct MBA (Metropolitan Basketball Association).

Almost live scores are available at the official PBA website. They are
usually late.

Unlike the US were there is only one college basketball tournament,
the Philippines have different leagues. The most popular are the UAAP
and the NCAA.
These leagues start in July or August. When these leagues start, you
may get live scores at the following websites.

You can also get other scores from other sports at the site.

University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP)

If you want updated college sports news even in the offseason, the
University Belt Sports website has the goods.

Our premier amateur league is the Philippine Basketball League. It is
now celebrating it's 20th anniversary. I couldn't confirm however if
they have live scores in their website.

I would also like to take note that most of these popular basketball
leagues make their live scores available via cell phones. I don't use
them since I can get them by watching tv as well and such services are
not free.

I hope these links would help you in your research once more. Before
rating this answer, please ask for a clarification if you have a
question or if you would need further information.
