Question ID: 185856
we are looking for an overview over the leading Human Resource
Management Tools, based on Lotus Notes/Domino technology.
The tools should fit for a company with >500 employees worldwide, and
will be used by 10 HR department employees.
We are especially interested in the following points:
- Data Export: how can the contents of the tool be exported to
internal and external websites?
- scalable license model: 10 users now-->low costs now. expandable
license if the number of users will raise.
- Workflow support
- Support of Job Openings and Job Descriptions, good connectivity to
external systems
The answer we are looking for is aa list of products/companies and a
short reference to the questions above. Alternatively, or in addition,
a comparison of pro
and cons of different products would be appreciated.

Hello baum-ga,

I’ve started researching your question and find that there is a wealth
of information available -- almost too much information. In order to
get you what you need, I’d like to have a better idea of what you’re
looking for. The HRMS market offers a large variety of solutions. An
analyst from the META Group recently asked this question:

Midmarket HRMS: In-House, Outsourced, In-Between?
Web capabilities enable HRMS vendors to provide multiple deployment
options for small and medium enterprises (SME - $100M to $1B
revenues), including all in-house, all hosted, or a mix of on-premise
and hosted services based on business function. Most vendors will
provide a range of options by YE04, and by 2006 traditional lines
between in-house and outsourced will be almost completely blurred.
Users must be ready for these new delivery models. Ron Hanscome

I’m not clear on what HR functions should be managed by the software
you’re looking for. You only specify job postings. I’m not even clear
if you mean only in-house job postings or also external recruiting.
Please tell me more about your implementation. Have you taken a look
at IBM’s offerings in the HR field?

clarification.

Right now we are looking for an administration of open positions,
internally and externally. These jobs should be published within
existing Web Content Management systems (internet, intranet) via XML
(not by a tool of the HR Software which is able to create whole
websites - we want to receive the bare content out of the HR tool,
independently of Lotus notes technology. Maybe R5 itself offers such
functionality).
Later on our customer should be able to use further HR standard
functionalities. But there are no precise requirements for these
functionalities at the moment.
As the customer has own Lotus Notes know-how, and since we want to
control the export process, the solution should run in house.
Thanks for your effort.

Thanks for the clarification baum-ga. I'm familiar with the HRMS
market but I think I'll leave this for fellow researchers who have
more technical expertise than me.
