My mother has a very unique name that is common in my family and
nowhere else. Her first name is Teatsy. The name is from her
mother's side of the family who we think have roots in the UK. I do
not have a specific question but, rather, would simply like a
reasonable amount (nearly any!) of info about the history of the name.

Thanks - tlspiegel-ga - but Susan Stepp is my mother's friend. The
Teatsy referred to in that message is my mother. The only other
living Teatsy that we know of is my mothers aunt, and one other person
with this name posted a message on some e-board about the death of
John Denver when it happened.

I had a friend in college whose first name was Teatsche. She
pronounced this "teetsee." My friend's parents had emigrated from the
Netherlands. I wonder whether "Teatsy" might be a variant of this
Dutch name.

Hello Cephalic-ga,

I was going to take a crack at this one but...Whew! There are only
three Teatsie's I could find in all of Google-land, making it a very
rare name indeed (I have a very unusual last name myself, but I can
still find at least a dozen of us in a Google search). Looking
through a number of name lists, Who's Who type reference sources,
artist and writer bibilographies, and a few other things turned up
ZERO people with this particular name.

So...I wish you and the researchers here good luck on this one. I
just wanted to let you know we're trying.

There was positively no one in the UK with that name, either Family or
Given, according to the last 'Info CD' that I have.

A list for the alumni of Valley Grande Academy

Susan,
Thanks for the RSVP on you and Teatsy. Will either of you be bringing
your family to the potluck? We need a head count as soon as possible.

For me it will just be one.
Teatsy may bring her mother and she was going to talk to her sister--both
alumni.

I will let you know other responses as I hear from people."

Best regards,
