Years ago I read an article about a guy (I think) called Bailey(or
Bayley) who propounded his laws of investment (which he may have
derived from rules for safe shipping--- like split cargo into small
lots, send on different boats, etc)and as far as I can recall those
rules were known as Bayley's Canons of Investment. There were about 5
in number. Does anyone know what they are, coz as far as I know they
are still highly relevant today?

Is the guy Jeffrey V. Bailey, co-author of Fundamentals of
Investments?

No, as I recall the Bailey to whom I refer devised his canons about
16th or 17th century. Unless the guy you refer to was around then I
suspect he's not the one I want.
