I would like to look at a cached page for ettorneys.com. How can I do
that? Or more generally, is there a site that retains Web sites after
they are taken down?

Dear pugs,

There is indeed a place where older versions of websites, also of such
that don't exist anymore, are stored. It is called "The Internet
Archive"; their "Wayback Machine" allows you to view those websites:
http://www.archive.org/

As for ettorneys.com, I searched their archive and found the following
versions of that particular website:

ettorneys.com, 16 August 2000:
http://web.archive.org/web/20001018123409/www.ettorneys.com/index2.html

ettorneys.com, 17 October 2000:
http://web.archive.org/web/20001121144800/ettorneys.com/index2.html

ettorneys.com, 18 October 2000:
http://web.archive.org/web/20001018123409/www.ettorneys.com/index2.html

ettorneys.com, 9 November 2000:
http://web.archive.org/web/20001109032300/www.ettorneys.com/index2.html

ettorneys.com, 21 November 2000:
http://web.archive.org/web/20001121144800/ettorneys.com/index2.html

ettorneys.com, 6 December 2000:
http://web.archive.org/web/20001207062000/www.ettorneys.com/index2.html

After that date, the ettorneys.com had dissapeared from the Web,
leaving nothing but this placeholder site, which also vanished after
26 September 2001:
http://web.archive.org/web/20010720085144/http://ettorneys.com/

Hope this answers your question!
