Hello Twinnie, I'm just going to list some ideas. If you choose one of them, I'll post it as the answer. And, in my opinion, your current "TouchIreland" isn't half bad. Pot of Gold Interactive InfoIreland Shamrock Interactive i-reland (the "I" being like the "I" in iWon.com, iVillage.com, etc.) Emerald Isle Interactive The Irish Touch Good luck. |

Hello again, Twinnie, I re-read your question and realized that you are going for something more, as you say, "catchy." File my above suggestions into the utilitarian brand name section. Here are some more suggestions: ANU - (Irish goddess of fertility...Mother Earth) Epona - (Goddess of horses...reference to an ancient information exchange) Agora - (Roman Market...gathering place...a place to exchange info) An Gaelin - (Celtic name for the North Star...the beam that lights the way home) Oirion - (Celtic name for Orion...I've just always liked that constellation) |

Hi, Being Irish, having performed successful marketing myself, I believe I can help. I suggest that you need a memorable name rather than some weak pseudo-irish-celtic unpronouncable (for most people - and therefore hard to remember) thing. You will be marketing to Non-irish, much much more than to irish folk. So I would go for something which calls on an existing very strong and enduring, but currently hidden memory. Diego Maradonna is best remembered all around the world for the "hand" or the touch, so I suggest either "Maradonna" or "Diego" if you are happy to not have a direct Irish sound to the name. If you can't brand (trademark) that in the markets you're interested in, call it Diego Brosnan or something else that taps the memories. "Diego Brosnan Information Services" would do you just fine! Anyway, if you don't like that, you still get the idea. Piggy-back the existing memories rather than trying to create a new Coke or Gilette brand. Good luck with your service, I look forward to using it. |
