Question ID: 186549
I have just purchased a new home. I am interested in a wireless
security system that will tell me when windows or doors are open, as
well as have someone come and install it for me. The problem is I am
short of time, and cannot find my way through the jungle of
conflicting advice. I understand that the X10 system is widely used,
and am wondering if that could be a solution.

Hi jhc1352!!

I only can say to you that the X10 system is a very good solution for
you.

You must buy the "Monitor Plus Security System":
Sounds siren, flashes lights & calls 24 Hour Professional Monitored
Station
. Installs within minutes with just one screwdriver (Sensors are radio
frequency (RF) wireless)
. NEW! Now packaged with PRO Version of the Main Console, wall
mountable.
. Monitor up to 16 zones (LEDs show status)
. Supervised sensors report low battery/tampering
. AC-powered with battery backup
. Up to 8 keychain/handheld remotes for family members (includes panic
button on key fob)
. Remotes can also turn on house lights/devices

The Monitor Plus system includes; 1 main console, 1 motion detector, 1
lamp unit, 1 keychain remote control, 1 Security/Home Automation
remote control, 2 door/window sensors. It costs $99.99.
The last devices (door/windows sensors) are the ones that you are
looking for.
Door / Window Sensor (DS10A):
Works with any X10 security system. These sensors send wireless
signals to any X10 Home Security System's Base Receiver when a door or
window is opened. Each sensor is supervised (self-checking) for
professional reliability and offers you a choice in design, and
performance. You can add them to the main X10 system. It costs $19.99
each or 5 for $79.96.

X10 claims Free Shipping for all orders over $49.99, Secure Ordering,

I hope this helps you. It is not my first intention to answer this
question, I only asked for your location in order to help other
researchers with info that may be useful.
I give this to you assuming the risk of having no earns because you
appear to be in a hurry to have an answer and nobody answer you.
I am not sure if this is the answer that you need (this is not my
field), but if it is please let me know and I will post it in the
answers field.

Best Regards.
