Is there a way that i can test the speed in loading of a varitey of specific
websites? I am doing an assignment and would like to be able mention
the speed it which it takes different specific websites to load using different
connections. (56k, DSL ect)

Great question!

Here is a site that will allow to do just as you are seeking, for
free. (Up to 5 pages at a time.)

NetMechanic

Once it is finished checking your URL(s), just click on the detailed
report link next to load time. It will tell how long each item on your
page took to load, and will give approximate times for different
speeds.

They do have an upgrade feature should you be interested.
