The BVCA was founded in 1983 and promotes private equity for the

a whole. It has well over 300 members - over 160 Full Members who are
private equity companies active in making equity investments,

are professional firms including accountants, lawyers and consultants.

created in May 1986, in order to promote, develop and represent

The National Venture Capital Association (NVCA) is the trade
association that represents the venture capital industry. It is a
member-based organization. Its membership consists of venture capital
firms and organizations who manage pools of risk equity capital
designated to be invested in young, emerging companies.
Currently, the NVCA represents 400+ member firms, representing the
majority of venture capital invested in U.S. based companies.
