I would like to know the age distributions of the populations of USA,
UK, Germany, Australia, Austria, and Italy. The data should be in
comparable format, so need to be compiled by one organization. I
suspect you'll find the information in sites belonging to the UN or
WHO or some other international organisation. Or perhaps the CIA
factbook.

In the early 1990s there was also a PC software program called PC
Globe which had this data.

The reason I want this data is, to understand how the proportions of
people who are of an age to enjoy active sports (eg football not golf)
differ in these countries.

Hello Victorchua,

I located the age distributions of the populations of USA,
UK, Germany, Australia, Austria, and Italy. The data is compiled by
one organization.

Before I post my answer I would like to verify if the following age
distribution is adequate.

Country
0-14 years: 14.5%
(male 2,993,747; female 2,812,498)
15-64 years: 68.1%
(male 13,699,383; female 13,592,717)
65 years and over: 17.4%
(male 2,922,452; female 4,056,303)

Thanks
Bobbie7

Sadly it is not adequate--I think I came across the same information
in my own Google searching. The 15-64 year band is just too wide and
doesn't reflect the active sporty age group enough.

I need smaller bands, like 15-24, 25-35, 35-45 etc.
