I am starting a catalog business focused on selling items (food, home
decor products, etc.) that are either made in the Southern US or
influenced by Southerners.  I am trying to determine the size of this
market.  How large is the market for goods made in the Southern US or
influenced by Southerners?

I have lived in Jacksonville, Florida since 1975 and I don't recall
anyone saying they give preference to southern made goods. There is a
magazine called Southern Living that hypes southern style customs,
dining and decore, but I think the circulation is one million or less.

Thanks for your message, Neil.  Actually, the circulation for Southern
Living is nearly 5 Million and the company that runs that pub and its
sister pub, Southern Accents, is a $500 M division of AOL Time Warner
here in Atlanta where I live.  Southern Living actually launched a
business last year called Southern Living at Home which uses more of a
Tupperware model.  They achieved $25 M in sales their first year.  The
products we are looking at selling are those you would need to
decorate and entertain with a Southern style...
