Hello,I am doing research on FDR and his health problems
during the election of 1944. Specifically I am looking for primary
sources regarding his physician, Dr. McIntire, and his heart
specialist, Dr. Bruenn. I do not need biographical information on
either, what I am searching for is actual articles, notes, etc that
they may have written, other articles and notes that his family, and
or political advisors had written, specifically about the presidents
health and the election of 1944 (basically how much they thought death
was imminent, or not).Specifically I am looking for information about
people who may have thought the President had many strokes before his
death, and those that dispute this claim (both secondary and primary
sources would be helpful). But any and all information regarding the
health problems and the election of 1944 would be fabulous. I am not
particularly interested in his polio, but more interested in his heart
problems because that ended up being what led to the late presidents
death.Currently I already have a copy of Bruenn's clinical notes,
written in the Annals of Internal Medicine. I also have works an
article "FDR's Little Strokes" A medical Myt by James Halstead. I have
examples of dietary reccomendations. I also have a copy of "the hidden
campaign" by hugh evans, so these things will not help me further my
research. Again I am most interested in Primary source documents about
FDR and the election of 1944 regarding his health, but would also
appreciate some secondary source documents.
