hi bost-ga!

I found swedish as a second language classes in Sweden this summer for
you. Sweden has several programs, one runs in summer only!

Where can I study?

Scroll down to "Studying Swedish in Sweden"

The Swedish Institute organizes only summer courses in Swedish as a
foreign language. We have no courses during the rest of the year...For

This was very interesting, but a year old:

Swedish in Sweden 2002:

The website above has all the current info.

If you'd like any more information, please don't hesitate to ask for
clarification before rating this, ok? I don't mind tracking more down
if this doesn't suit your needs.

Hi Cynthia

Thx for your answer although you didnt give me much new info. Im
saisfied anyway
cause all of your gave me enough links where to start on.

While checking your replies i "discovered" courses dedicated for
foreigners
willing to study swedish which want to spend in Sweden _just_ their
holidays
(2-3 weeks) together in a _team_ of other foreigners. Like for example
http://www.uiss.org/

Please narrow your search to this kind of Summer Schools and for
_this_ case
extend your search on whole Sweden, not only Stockholm. Also for this
case do
not keep on my request concerning 2-4 hours/day, exl. weekends with
limitation
upp to 10 pple.

you know it would damn boring to attend independently a course
somewhere behind
a polar circle which is designed for pple living & working there, but
it can
be cool&thrilling to make it anywhere with a bunch of partYcipants
which came
there to take their time :) (and study of course :)
thx in advance

you...

I've been very ill for the last 2 days, have not been out of bed.
Hopefully I'll be back in the saddle by Friday. I know I can find more
classes, I remember seeing many more but I didn't post them all. I
stopped in to update you and let you know I have not forgotten about
you. --Thanks for your patience.

Hi Cynthia

pls send me the links ASAP. It's seems like most of the deadlines for
these
courses are set to 15th May. Im starting to be in time pressure. Some
of the courses are already fully booked + application and payment
procedures take some
time!

Hi bost,

I have some sort of bad flu still, but am determined to finish this
for you! At least it's not SARS... I am able to get around now, but I
missed an entire week at my "day job"... I know you are under a time
constraint, so I will post my new links right now and keep looking
over the weekend.

I found these resources for you:

Language School Guide
http://www.languageschoolsguide.com/listingsp3.cfm?listing=3569&fkcountry=83
..."Uppsala is Sweden's oldest university town and a wonderful city,
combined with the student atmosphere and facilities, it makes for the
ideal program to learn Swedish. Each year, over 200 international
students from different backgrounds, different language levels, meet
from around the world to participate in our summer program..."

They also have this page:

http://www.languageschoolsguide.com/listingsp3.cfm?listing=13126
..."A unique way to learn a language, studying and living in the home
of your own personal teacher! .... By living and studying in your own
personal teacher's home, you live in the language and you can't avoid
learning. As soon as the student wakes each morning, the lesson
begins, from chatting over breakfast to the end of the day, just
relaxing and watching TV, the language spoken is the language you are
studying..." [that sounds really fun!]

Here is the "Study Abroad" web site with a long page of links to
swedish classes in Sweden.
http://www.studyabroaddirectory.com/Sweden.cfm

Languages Abroad

Sweden Page: http://www.languagesabroad.com/countries/sweden.html

I still think this one is the best:

FOLKUNIVERSITETET

[Main Page]
For the Swedish in Sweden page click on the link at the top right.

This link may be of use as well:

"Some links about Swedish and Sweden for you who understand English"

Adding "summer school" and/or "summer classes" didn't yeild any
results worth posting.

I'm not a paid researcher, but here are 2 links to start with:¨

Folkuniversitetet:

Swedish Institute (not in big cities, but check the links at the
bottom of the page too!):

I've noticed that no one seems to answer your question "properly". Do
you need more links/information, or are the 2 above enough? I could
always find some more information, but that would be for free, so do
you need more, and if so what would you prefer me to find, when I can
only do it for free?

Hi Carlar

I need some time to go through the pages. im bit busy + there are some
interesting links from those pages which i would like to check. some of these
pages are in swedish so i must use dictionary to understand details. anyway i
think you gave me (a part of) what i was looking for so if noone else is gonna
answer then i'll give you 25 somehow. (I'll try to contact google staff and
explain them the stuff about you) So pls postpone you research and wait for my
further message.

thx & EOF

Hello Bost,

Payments only go through if you receive an answer to your question in
the answer field. Researchers and anyone else can make comments, but
these have to be given for free. Since Carlar is not a researcher,
s/he cannot post in the answer field and thus cannot get paid.
Researchers will often hesitate to provide an official answer to a
question which has already been largely answered in the comments. This
is because the customer might object to being charged when a good
part of the information was given for free and consequently give the
researcher a poor rating or demand a refund.

the point is that i _WANT_that information and i decided to pay for that
25. so if i get an answer from anyone else (researcher) which completes
the comment from Carlar (more links, personal experiences, comparisions,
whatever more&usefull), then i'll pay that man 25. and i will kindly ask
him to send N dolars to Carclar as a private. (i nu, im naive :[])
if not then i will ask Carclar to continue his research and i'll find a
way how to pay him as a private (if he wants :[]). he just has to trust
me :[]

I briefly checked your score Tehuti. You seems to be quite active
(=> experienced) on this googling answers. Pls forward my ideas to the
appropriate destinations if you find them usefull:
 - what about to have a system to divide the offered amout among
more researchers/commentators according to content of answer/comment?
if im righ only 1 (certified) researcher can get money for the answer. but if
anyone can post a comment which can help (as not only in my case) then why
   not to pay him ?
 - what about to make this whole answering system more opened. to allow
anyone to answer, see the statistics, recently posted questions,
etc. In order to attract/involve more users/researches ...

I found a few more links with summer courses in Sweden:

Studiefrämjandet Stockholm (scroll down to the bottom of the page for
"Swedish for foreigners", the courses start in mid may though!)

http://www.sfr.se/extern/avd/0199/0101/spraksommar.stm

Here is another link to Folkuniversitetet. This is in Lund, which is a
nice city, especially in the summer, close to Malmö (and Copenhagen in
Denmark):

http://www.folkuniversitetet.se/isu/summer.asp

As with the N dollars for me, I think the best and easiest would be
that Tehuti, or whoever answers the question, gives the N dollars “I
deserve” to some charity, like Amnesty International, Save the
Children, World Wildlife Fund or some other organization they share
the views of. And if no one answers the question properly, I think you
Bost can give the N dollars you think my links have been worth to a
charity organization you like, that would be the easiest way of
solving this little issue, and perhaps even making the world a little
better :-)

Lycka till med språkstudierna!

Hello again Bost,

You're going to be stymied once more, I'm afraid, because neither
researchers nor commenters are allowed to place personal contact
information here, so there is no way for a researcher to contact
Carlar off-site. If you do want to get your suggestions over to the
people who manage this service, the best thing you can do is contact
them directly at answers-editors@google.com

The summer courses at Uppsala University might be of interest to you:
