I know that the WEP protocoll for wireless communications is weak from a secuity standpoint. My question relates to it's stability. Does (or perhaps should) enabling WEP on network devices reduce the stability (read: network connection drops for non-range related issues) of the connection. Are drops when using WEP to be expected as a result of some protocoll faults, are specific implementations (from different manufacturuers, or perhaps, different driver sets) more or less stable with regards to WEP based connections. Background in breif: I am currently using two wireless network devices, http://www.ncix.com/canada/productdetail.php?sku=6129 http://www.ncix.com/canada/productdetail.php?sku=6477 And receive great connectivity when WEP is disabled, but drop frequently when it is. |
