The sport of the multitudes, since before Christ.

The accurate date of the sprouting of the soccer is something that
nobody can affirm with certainty. The action to kick some object
always was present in the history of the humanity, either a rock, a
fruit or until a skull.

Games that use the feet as instruments exist have thousand of years -
it has registers that they date of 4.500 years before Christ. Example
of this is kemari, created in Japan, at the time of emperors Engi and
Tenrei. The noblemen of the imperial cut practised the sport in return
of a cerejeira. The game consisted of touching a done fiber ball of
bamboo with the feet and the hands. Without competitive spirit, he was
executed with delicacy and ability. It remembered plus a stage,
without having a punctuation.

Another relative next to the soccer is the Tsu-chu, that was created
in China, for return of 1.400 B.C. In the Tsu-chu the practitioners
had that to pass a ball on the inside of two props threaded in the
soil, that ten meters distant one of the other were. The ball, with
capim in its interior, could in such a way be lead with the feet as
for the hands. In the beginning, the main objective of this sport was
the military training, but the noblemen if had soon interested for the
game and had started to practise it. An activity of leisure of the
nobility became. Only in century II, at the time of the Han dynasty,
the soccer finally arrived at the people.

In old Greece, smeared men and naked women with aromatical oils
practised a similar sport to the ballet. In squares or gymnasia, the
athletes lead the ball with harmonious, sensual movements and with
much erotismo.

In the Rome of the great Emperors, the violence conducted the sport
called Harpastum. Júlio Cesar was a great incentivador apreciador and
of this modality, that was practised for the troops of the Emperor,
between a battle and another one. The objective age to entertain and
to keep the physical form of the soldiers, functioning as training for
these troops. The violence was as much, that after the treinos many
men died or were wounded. It has a story of that in one determined
day, Cesar was knowing that "only" 25 men had died, in the trainings
of the morning. With this, it informed to general Spartacus who, if
after the other trainings the deceased number continued low, it would
only go to allow the practical one of the sport for women. In the
following day, for the happiness of the Emperor, the deceased number
increased for 47. It is the first "pressure of the direction" that if
has notice.

In Florença, in the Average Age, the Calccio Fiorentino, considered
appeared the father of the modern soccer. The game was carried through
in the Square Della Signoria de Florença, between two teams, that
could use the hands and the feet to put into motion the ball. The
purpose was to lead the pellet until the redoubt of the adversary.
With the success of the sport, it Rome arrived and was played in a
square around of the Vatican, having as practicing the Popes Clement
VII, Lion X, Urban VIII and until Saint Augustin (a possible reason of
the agostinianos priests to be incentivadores of the soccer in its
schools for the world).

In France, the Soule, fellow creature to the Calccio Fiorentino, but
distant relative of the soccer, crossed borders and arrived at
Great-Britain, where it evolved and it was improved, arriving at the
sprouting of rugby. This violent sport became a great passion, having
as practicing rioters, qualrrelsome, sadist and similar. The ball was
only excuse for would pancadaria that always it was followed. Serious
wounds and until deaths were frequent. The criterion of the game was
to take the ball of the square of a city until the square of the city
adversary. Who arrived first until the enclosure of the enemy one was
the winner. The king Eduardo II finished forbidding the game. Who
infringed the order would be executed.
Already in the half of century XIX, this sport evolved and started to
be called rugby. Between the many practicing clubs, some preferred to
play the ball with the feet, calling it football. Twelve clubs, or
associations, adepts to the game with the feet, had marked a meeting
to take a decision: they wanted to practise a less violent sport and
with definite rules that of rugby.

In the meeting that occurred in the city of London, in 26 of October
of 1863, the clubs had created the Football Association and had
adopted the rules that had been created for the University of
Cambridge. He was gone down that each team would have in the maximum
eleven and at the very least seven players. In elapsing of the years
the too much rules had been introduced and improved.

In 1904, it was established, in Paris, the Fifa. With the immense
success of the soccer in the olímpicos games, then the president of
the entity, the Frenchman Jules Rimet, livened up itself in organizing
the first Pantry of the World, carried through in Uruguay and that she
counted on the presence of 16 elections. Today it is the attended
event more in all the planet.

Today, under the presidency of the Swiss Joseph Blatter, the soccer is
one of the businesses most lucrative of the world, leading multitudes
to stadiums, generating enormous hearings and astronomical amounts of
money, for intermediary of its innumerable sponsors

The BEGINNING In BRAZIL

Although to have registers of games improvised in the country since
about 1870, it was from the work of Charles Miller that the sport
started to be of spread out fact. It can be considered that it has
been "the father" of the Brazilian soccer. In the year of 1894, when
it returned from its studies in England, the native of São Paulo,
descendant of English and escoceses, it brought in the luggage the
first ball of soccer of the country.
When it disembarked in return to Brazil, Miller if it surprised when
knowing that nobody practised the soccer in the country. Luck that had
brought two balls, a needle, a air bomb and two uniforms. It started
then to catequizar its friends of work and cricket - high employees of
the Gas Company, the Bank of London and the Railroad São Paulo Railway
-, establishing the first club of soccer of Brazil, the São Paulo
Athletic, that congregated the resident British in São Paulo.

The new sport firmed e, in the first match disputed in Brazil (São
Paulo of 1902), Miller was the artilleryman of the competition, with
10 gols in nine games. Its history in the club followed up to 1910.
Later it had some performances as arbitrator. It faleceu in 1953,
covered of glories for having introduced the soccer in the country.

Description:
Forming one of the best elections of history, Brazil conquest its
third world-wide heading, playing a soccer of dreams, and being
definitively with the Goblet Jules Rimet.

After to have its prestige shaken with the defeat in the Pantry of 66,
the Brazilian soccer would delay some years if recompor, but in the
eliminatory ones for the Pantry of 70, in 1969, the team made a
arrasadora campaign, goleando the adversaries and disclosing a bonanza
pair of attack, Pelé and Tostão. Shortly afterwards of if classifying,
however, the election started to have problems. Tostão suffered a
displacement from retina, and was threatened to be outside of the
Pantry. The technician Saldanha João was knocked down, after to become
involved itself in some confusions, misunderstandings and the election
to lose some games. For its place Zagallo was called, bichampion of
the world as player, and that the career of technician of victorious
form in the Botafogo starts. The teams would be modified in relation
the team of Saldanha. Rivellino was improvised in the tip-left, Wilson
Piazza would play of zagueiro, Tostão of centroavante, and Jairzinho
of tip-right. The teams played with 5 players who dressed shirt 10 in
its clubs: Gérson, Rivellino, Pelé, Jairzinho and Tostão.

The first game of the Pantry was against the Tchecoslováquia. The
victory would be for 4 the 1, and would have launches antológicos, as
the two gols of Jairzinho, the launchings of Gérson and the attempt of
Pelé to make a behind goal of the line of the half-field. For the
following departure, against England, the team would not count on
Gérson, and would have many difficulties to gain the game for 1 the 0,
goal of Jairzinho. In the first time, Pelé would pparently make plus a
great play, cabeceando an indefensible ball, that would finish in a
historical defense of Banks. Brazil still would make a game for the
first phase, against the Romênia, playing without Gérson and
Rivellino, and would win for 3 the 2. The next adversary, Peru, had
been the great surprise of the eliminatory ones, when eliminating
Argentina, and was trained for the Didi Brazilian. The Brazilian
victory was for 4 the 2, classifying the team for the semifinal,
against Uruguay. Before the departure the souvenir of the 1950 defeat
was inevitable, and, perhaps therefore, the teams delayed to meet in
field, and finished taking the first goal. In the end of the first
stage, Clodoaldo would tie up to, concluding a beautiful pass of
Tostão. The game would continue difficult in second time, and alone at
the 31 minutes the Brazilians would arrive at as the goal, of the
"Hurricane of the Pantry", Jairzinho. Rivellino defined the departure,
but it launches it famous more was carried out by Pelé: after a pass
of Tostão, the King gave one dribbles of body in the goleiro
Mazurkiewicz, but, unbalanced, it lost the goal. The election was in
plus one end, of this time with an extra factor: who was successful
would be in definitive with the Goblet Jules Rimet, since the
adversary, Italy, also had two world-wide headings. Brazil left in the
front, with a goal of head of Pelé, but Italy still tied up to in the
first stage, in imperfection of Clodoaldo. In second time Brazil made
a historical exhibition. Using to advantage itself to be in better
physical conditions, the Brazilians had made three gols, through
Gérson, Jairzinho (that he would make gols in all the games), and
Carlos Alberto. This last goal had the participation of half teams.
Clodoaldo, after to fintar some adversaries, touches for Rivellino,
that strains a pass for Jairzinho. The "Hurricane" passes to Pelé,
that gives a light touch for the strong kick of Carlos Alberto. One
golaço, symbol of that election, that astonished the whole world, and
took Brazil to conquer in definitive the biggest glory of the soccer.
