Question ID: 188857
What is the likely cause of variable resonance--high pitched
noise(buzz)varying in frequency-increasing as set warms up--not coming
through speakers-but from back of set(Hitachi platara CL
32PD3000)-varies with image content.Could this come from high voltage
power pack--dealer says it is fan noise. Not on dealers set(my
observation).

Hi -

Where are you located? The rep I talked to from Hitachi USA hasn't
heard of this model.

Thanks,

Hi Colinmack:

Did you locate the problem? I'm curious to know what it turned out to
be. Someone else might post a similar question.

It appears you have a European-designed Hitachi. This is a guess but
I located only two references to platara CL 32PD3000 on the web:

a Home Cinema magazine contents page which appears to have a British
pounds currency symbol in the upper right hand corner of the cover

http://www.homecinemachoice.com/magazine/200302.shtml

and

a European Hitachi web site
http://www.hitachi.be/nl/home.asp

If you are in the US (or another location with a different voltage
than European countries), it could be the sound is being made because
too much or too little current is coursing through the TV. If you are
in a European country, then never mind. :)
