There's a lot of information out there about Titleist fairway woods.
What information in particular do you want to know? (Please keep in
mind the pricing guidelines at
http://answers.google.com/answers/pricing.html .)

I knew you would say that! I hope this clears it up. My boss has me
for "more information about the fairway woods" Titleist makes. And
when he says things like that, he means everything. I'm thinking,
general background, style, materials, how it handles, reviews, design.
Think of things that would persuade someone to purchase one of the
woods. I know the PT 970 series and 983F are mainly of interest to
him. Let me know if you need more info or if there is anything I can
do to help! Thanks!

It doesn't seem that there is a PT 970 series or a 983F by Titleist.
There was a 970 series, and there is currently a 980F. Are these what
you mainly need information about?

Also, would you be happy with an answer that summarizes how best to
find the information you need? My sense is that describing all of
this information would be beyond the work normally contemplated under
the Google Answers pricing guidelines.

Hello birkett7-ga,

A logical place to start is Titleist's own web site (
http://www.titleist.com/ ). If you look at "Golf Clubs", you'll see
information about "Fairway Metals" (
http://www.titleist.com/fairways/default.asp ). There, you can get
information about the 980F and 980F Strong, which will both be
available in June. (I misspoke slightly when I indicated that there
was "currently" the 980F -- I had meant that they were currently
displayed on the Titleist web site.)

"Pro Trajectory 980F Fairways"
Titleist
http://www.titleist.com/fairways/details.asp?ID=1

"Pro Trajectory 980F Strong Fairways"
Titleist
http://www.titleist.com/fairways/details.asp?ID=3

Incidentally, you had mentioned the 983F. The 983 numbers appear to
be reserved for drivers.

"Titleist Drivers"
Titleist
http://www.titleist.com/woods/default.asp

I think that the best single way to find the maximum amount of
information on the 970 and 980 is to search on Google as follows:

"Searched the web for titleist 970"
Google
://www.google.com/search?q=titleist+970&num=30&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&safe=off&filter=0

"Searched the web for titleist 980"
Google
://www.google.com/search?q=titleist+980&num=30&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&safe=off&filter=0

"Searched the web for titleist 980f"
Google
://www.google.com/search?q=titleist+980f&num=30&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&safe=off&filter=0

You had mentioned PT, which stands for "Pro Trajectory". If you are
interested in information about that, you can try these searches:

"Searched the web for titleist pt"
Google
://www.google.com/search?q=titleist+pt&num=30&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&safe=off&filter=0

Searched the web for titleist "pro trajectory"
Google
://www.google.com/search?q=titleist+%22pro+trajectory%22&num=30&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&safe=off&filter=0

Note: The foregoing links reflect that I conducted those searches with
the SafeSearch filtering off, and have gone to the end of the initial
search results to click on "repeat the search with the omitted results
included". This way, you can see the most results possible.

You might want to try the same searches on Google Groups (though the
Titleist 980F does not appear yet there) or other search engines, such
as Ixquick ( http://www.ixquick.com/ ) , a metasearch engine.

Some of the results will provide little information, but you'll likely
find some good information mixed in. (As a Researcher, I feel that
often the best strategy is to skim the first 100 or 150 results to
look for pages that seem informative on the topic I want. It takes a
little time, but is usually worthwhile.)

Another research tool is the Google Directory, specifically for the
category of golf:

"Sports > Golf"
Google Directory
http://directory.google.com/Top/Sports/Golf/

The two categories under "Golf" that seem most useful are:

"Sports > Golf > Resources" [includes publications that review golf
equipment]
Google Directory
http://directory.google.com/Top/Sports/Golf/Resources/

"Sports > Golf > News and Media"
Google Directory
http://directory.google.com/Top/Sports/Golf/News_and_Media/

Remember to click on the subcategories within these categories, to
find additional web sites.

I hope that this information is helpful.
