Question ID: 189361
have a client that lives in colorado; has conflict with neighbors and
county government regarding tree-cutting. client wants to clear
trees for fire safety reasons (remember the forest fires last summer!)
but local tree hugger is giving him grief and pulling county into it
(which says 'we have to approve anything you do on your property and
if you have to ask the answer is no')

would like to assemble some docs/info of how this has been handled by others.

If you can let us know your client's zip code, it would help in
locating applicable laws and documents.

Hello again.

The city of Aspen does have fairly restrictive rules regarding tree
removal, and requires a permit and a fee for such removal. I don't
see any equivalent rules at the county level. Unless your client
lives on federal lands (e.g. a National Forest) I don't think any
federal rules would be pertinent for a private home.

Would the city of Aspen guidelines on tree removal be an acceptable
answer?
