I have projections for the WORLDWIDE market on the data storage
industry. Will these satisfy your question or do you specifically
want US statistics? Thank you.

The Storage Networking Industry Association has some information
related to your question. While it pertains to the worldwide data
storage market, the following graph is a useful picture of data
storage needs for the past few years.

Some historical numbers:

According to Strategic Research Corp (in March of 2000), corporate
storage per user company had been growing 44% a year.

According to this Byte Graphic

Corporate storage growth a few years earlier was 50% a year.

Interestingly enough, current articles indicate that the primary
driver for storage is the billions of e-mails sent every day.
