Greetings restaboogy,

This is an interesting question, I hope my answer helps you in your
search.

I used several search terms, however, my successful phrase was to
search for - "biological supply" mushroom - which resulted in the
following url from google.com -->

I also searched on the keywords - supplier cordyceps spawn OR spore -
which resulted in the following url -->
://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&as_qdr=all&q=supplier+cordyceps+spawn+OR+spore

The company that seemed the best possibility is Fungi Pefecti, LLC
(http://www.fungi.com). They have a wide variety of mushroom spores,
spawn and In Vitro strains of mushrooms, however, they did not list on
their site the Cordyceps sinensis mushroom. However, on another site,
I have found a reference to Fungi Perfecti, LLC as a supplier of the
Cordyceps sinesis mushroom. That site,
http://www.kalahealth.com/cordyceps.htm, states- "KALA Health's
Cordyceps mycelium is obtained from Fungi Perfecti, an organically
certified grower in the Pacific Northwest. Our Cordyceps is guaranteed
free of heavy metals, pesticides, fungi and bacteria. Each batch is
analyzed by an independent laboratory, and standardized to guarantee
its quality and strength." I have contacted them by email to inquire
about their prices as their site states they are constantly
cultivating new varieties that may not be listed on the website. I
will post their answer as soon as I have received it.

Another company that provide the Caterpillar Fungus, or Cordyceps
sinensis is Mycosource, Inc. (http://www.mycosource.com/commcult.htm).
Their contact information is at the bottom of the page, they do not
provide pricing information, however, they sell in commercial, small
commercial and home cultivation quantities.

You didn't ask for this information, but I found it highly valuable in
my search and thought I would post this website which as a plethora of
information about the medicinal Cordyceps -
http://www.elitelands.com/cs-4.htm

I hope you find this information helpful, it seems to be a hard
product to find. As I said before, I'll post all the information I
receive from Fungi Perfecti as soon as I receive it. Please remember
to ask for clarification if necessary before rating my answer.

Best regards,

Hi,

I heard back from Fungi Perfecti, here is their response:

************************************
(mosquitohawk-ga),

Greetings. We sell several products made from Cordyceps sinensis.
There are more than 400 species of Cordyceps in the world, but it is
unclear what species your inquiring customer wants. Those
inexperienced in taxonomy can unsuspectingly generate a contaminant.
This is not as easy subject for the inexperienced.

Please check out our home page at www.fungi.com.

my books are also a good resource for how to generate cultures.

be well

paul

You may contact him directly from his web page to followup with them
regarding the spores.

I am aware of Fungi Perfecti's product line and books, as I grow
shiitakes. I will contact Mr. Staments and ask if he does sell
cordyceps sinensis spawn available for commercial sale.

I am more interested in what is available from Mr. Liu. Does he mind
if I email him directly/unsolicited?

Thanks,
rextaboogy-ga

I emailed Mr. Liu and advised him you may be contacting him directly.
He has not responded because in his last email he sent he was going to
bed! He told me he would get back in touch with me first thing in the
morning, however, I am quite sure he wouldn't mind you contacting him
directly. My initial contact with him was a cold contact, so at least
this time he has some forewarning.

If you would prefer, I can wait until he responds and let you know,
but again, he's a salesman so I don't think he'll mind.

I am regretful you did not find the answer helpful, however, you did
not specify that you were already in receipt of certain information.
This would have been helpful to the researcher so that we don't
duplicate what you already have, otherwise, we have no way of knowing
what you already know or don't know.

I will continue to try to find some information for you.

Most of the information provided by the researcher, I already had
found. The researcher did provide me with a contact name in China
which I am very appreciative. So far this gentlemen has not replied to
my request for more information, but I hope he will soon.
If I would have known that the researchers would be primarily (almost
exclusively) using Google to obtain the answers, I would have opted
not to use the service.
If the China contact pans out it was money well spent. If not I do not
hear back from this gentlemen, I wasted $10.00 to get info I already
had.
