According to an article in today's Times, at
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/newspaper/0,,2718-643220,00.html

call centre staff (many of whom are graduates or postgraduates) earn
approx GBP 1,000 per year, and doctors (of medicine) about GBP 12,000.
