I have an Imac running OS 9.1  I also use Internet Explorer 5.1.5
Every Monday and every Friday without fail (four weeks now) I.E.
reverts to its default condition. This wipes out all the preferences,
all the cookies every thing I have entered except the favorites.
 Why is this happening?  How can I stop it happening.

Check for virus and read this page, it is for window operating system,
but you could alway use the info as it related to Imac

I can't say it will fix the problem, but upgrade at least to 9.2(.2)

And, also, consider moving to OSX and using Safari - I do, and it is fine.

Mozilla is another option too.
