In my job search process, there are several kind of companies I could
target: 1) Large, high profile companies like Oracle, Microsoft, and
Google. 2) Somewhat smaller, less well known, but well established
companies with a reasonably large number of employees. 3) Very small
firms, possibly recent startups.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of working for these
different types of companies? I'm interested in the relative wages,
how many hours per week I'll have to work, opportunities for career
advancement within the firm, and how good it will look on my resume if
I change jobs.
