Ralph Huntingdon Rice was acquitted on rape and murder charges in the killing of Clara M. Smith in Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts in June 1940. He was the brother of Phidelah Rice, the owner of the Rice Playhouse, where the crime was committed. After his acquittal, Rice disappears. Is there a way to find out what happened to him -- an obituary or some other source of information on how he lived the rest of his life? | |

Researchers, see my comment on http://answers.google.com/answers/main?cmd=threadview&id=190694 Several of the NY Times articles have Rice as being 54. Regards, luciaphile-ga |

From the guy who asked the question: Court transcripts from the only trial held in this case say Rice was 53 at the time of the murder, and that Tracy was 35. See a note of thanks to luciafile-ga in a related question from me about the fate of Harold Tracy after 1946. Thanks, mccook-ga |
