I notice quite a bit of sex that use no condoms. I have heard that
they have kits that they use to check people for STDs. I realize that
they go once a month or so to the doctor, but I also know there is
some kit that they use on set. I'm not interested in the HIV kit, I'm
looking for the name of the kit that does all STDs. In addition, a
list of places that sell it.

There is no "on-set" kit for HIV detection, they use a PCR (polymerase
chain reaction) test, which involves an "expensive machine". :)

There is at least one non-profit, "industry-oriented" outfit in the
San Fernando valley that does these tests, Adult industry Medical:

I'm sure they could provide you with answers to all of your
STD-related questions.

Historically, the only STD test generally demanded in the adult
industry has been HIV, but as you can see on
http://aim-med.org/NewTestingRequirements.html
, chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis testing may also become highly
prevalent.

You'll notice herpes absent from that list. I don't recall the exact
source, but it was reputable, and claimed that 40%+ of performers in
the adult industry carried herpes. Yipes.

Based on two documentaries I have seen on the industry (they were
really docos, I swear) - they only require an up-to-date test
certificate, I have never heard mention of an on the spot STD test.

I would suspect that if such test did exist, they would be in use in
situations like blood donation as well, as part of the initial
screening process.

You might find this Guardian article interesting, as mentioning STI's
in the porn industry:

Does any one know how much these "expensive machines" are?

Polymerase Chain Reaction, or PCR, is a highly detailed process that
is used to clone DNA.

It is not a device you can have around the house, or buy at the
supermarket. These are machines used in biological research
laboratories.

Even if you did get a PCR machine, you would then have to sequence the
DNA and find the correct genes. It's high-tech science, nothing you
can do at home. Sorry
