Hello,

I'm looking for a program which would allow me to compile ideas in the
form of a tree and sub branches and be able to type a paragraph to
brief the role of each element.

Very likely looks like a table of contents with mains and subs.

Example:

1.
1.1
1.2
1.2.1

2.1
2.1.1.1
2.1.1.2

You get the picture. :-)

Would be wonderful if the contents were exportable to text for
example.

Thank you.

Howdy lizardnation!

Under what operating system are you going to run the software?

Thanks! denco-ga

Sorry I took my time, I was looking at the products in the comments
area.

Seems like I found Visual Mind to be the most easy to use and straight
forward comprehandabe. :-)

Thank you.

As requested, I'm re-posting my original comment as an answer:

"It looks like you could use the idea of "Mind Mapping" as invented by
Tony Buzan. There is a lot of software that can help you to create
them. Here is ONE example:

Naturally, this leaves me open to requests for answer clarification :)
...Though I should say that I've used mind-mapping a lot myself and
find it very interesting so if you *do* have any more queries I would
be happy to try to help.

Glad we could help!

Great piece of software, does it right and is very productive. I
didn't expect to be catered to with this

IDEA - find you a freeware genealogy program. Instead of entering
names on the branches and sub-branches, enter your ideas.

Sound like a workable recommendation?

This one's been around for quite a while, and I've tried it in the
past.... http://www.thebrain.com/ - It is more of a "spiderweb"-node
type of application, rather than tree, but this provides a nice bit of
functionality thanks to a structure that's not quite as rigid. 30-day
demo on the personal version is free to download.
