This isn't very precise, but it's the best I could find: "Mr Rumsfeld does not dominate a room physically. In appearance he is slim and dapper, a man of medium height invariably dressed in expensive American suits that nevertheless contrive to look cheap. It is rather his personality that takes control, manifest in his self-confidence, sharp tongue and earthy single-mindedness." http://www.guardian.co.uk/afghanistan/comment/story/0,11447,658044,00.html Here's a picture of Rumsfeld with Michael Jordan, who is 6'6": http://member.compuserve.com/fotosrch/3/20030414MCI02D_MCI02D.jpg In photos showing Rumsfeld with George W. Bush, Rumsfeld appears to be about two inches shorter than the President, who is 5'11" tall. |

Looks to me as if Pinkfreud's pegged it pretty well. The April 14, 2003 New Yorker has a brief article called "Rummy Meets His Match" that talks about Donald Rumsfeld wrestling in the 157-pound weight class for Princeton in the 1953 Eastern Intercollegiates. However, no height numbers (and it's not online either). And like me, Mr. Rumsfeld probably wishes he were 157-pounds again. Best regards, Omnivorous-GA |
