The three music software programs are installed on a newish laptop
(using Windows XP). The laptop is a Dell Inspiron 8200 (Pentium IV.
The machine keeps crashing. I'd like ideas or suggestions about the
suggested causes, or where I can research the cause.

To really help you out, we need a little more information:

-- What are the three programs (with version numbers, if applicable)
-- How much RAM do you have?
-- When does the machine crash (when you load a particular program,
when you use it, when you try to exit it, etc.)?

The software is Reason 2.0 and Recycle 2.0
The memory on the computer is 512 MB (2* 256 MB DDR)
Hard drive is 40GB
There is no common trigger for the machine to crash

What I want are facilities I can go to to check out possible causes -
although if there is a known cause that would be great.

Missy,

On a hunch, I googled for "reason rebirth music software".
Result: http://www.propellerheads.se/
Propellerheads is the software maker of all three programs.

Cheers,
Morel
